Mountford Winery, Gallery & Cidery
Early pioneers of the wine industry in the Southwest of Western Australia, the Mountford family selected Pemberton for the unique flavour potential of wine grapes grown in this cooler, largely forested region of high winter rainfall. Trained horticulturist and wine lover Andrew was looking for a region as yet undiscovered in Australia. Mountford produce both wine and cider, and operate an art gallery throughout the year, where they have recently introduced musical performances, including regular jazz.
Special Wine Promotion - Mountford 2006 Cabernet Merlot
Mountford Wines is pleased to present a special premium wine offer to jazz enthusiasts from their vineyards in Pemberton. Fine wine and jazz are a natural combination and Mountford has continued to support jazz through the regular presentation of concerts at the winery as part of JAZZWA touring initiatives. And so, from the cool climate of this beautiful region comes this 2006 Cabernet-Merlot. The tasting notes say: "organically grown unirrigated cool climate fruit achieves a superb balance in this wine. Ripe cassis fruit on the nose develops intensity on the palate. Integrated, French oak tannins nestle in comfortably to produce a wine that is drinking beautifully now and will also reward the patient cellaring enthusiast for many years to come."
