JAZZWA is working to represent everyone that has an interest in Jazz in Western Australia on the widest possible level, whether your interest is professional or recreational. If you would like to register with JAZZWA to receive our email newsletter with information on jazz events and activities, just click on the link on the right hand side of the page and fill out the online registration form. JAZZWA is a membership-based organisation, providing services for the development and promotion of jazz music and musicians in WA. Membership runs for 12 months from the date of joining.
By becoming a member of JAZZWA, you are helping to support the future development of jazz in Western Australia. Although we do offer FREE Basic Membership, by joining as a Premium Member, you are assisting us to achieve our objectives of furthering and supporting the exceptional talent that we are so fortunate to have here in WA. Our Premium Membership is predominantly aimed at those actively involved in jazz performance and presentation, and those who wish to support our endeavour’s in a sponsorship capacity.
If you are a jazz enthusiast, we would encourage you to join one of the main Clubs: Perth Jazz Society, Jazz Fremantle, the Jazz Club of WA and/or the Jazz Guitar Society of WA depending on what best suits your interest. However, please join up as a Basic Member to join our mailing list or contact us if you are interested in becoming a sponsor member.

Basic membership:
Basic Membership of JAZZWA is FREE, all you need to do is create a user name and login to be able to post gigs to the website, and create a band or musician listing. This entitles you to a name listing only, and includes the following benefits:
- Subscription to the JAZZWA newsletter
- Post your gigs on the jazz event calendar
- Subscription to the JAZZWA media list
Premium Musican Membership:
includes the above benefits, and additionally-
- Subscription to the JAZZWA musicians mailing list, an artist enquiry service
- Musician and band profile
- link to your website and/ or myspace and facebook page
- Opportunity to apply to participate in JAZZWA core projects (including Explorations Jam Session, Jazz Windows, Jazzaziz recording, Regional Touring, Sponsorship), subject to submitting application to selection panel.
- Opportunity to apply to JAZZWA for auspicing of regional touring or events
- Access to consultant regarding assistance with grant applications *
- Discounted entry prices to selected JAZZWA and sponsor events

Ensemble Membership
includes benefits of Premium Musician membership for the ensemble when performing together:
- Subscription to the JAZZWA musicians mailing list, an artist enquiry service
- Musician and band profile

- Opportunity to apply to participate in JAZZWA core projects (including Explorations Jam Session, Jazz Windows, Jazzaziz recording, Regional Touring, Sponsorship), subject to submitting application to selection panel.

Ensembles may elect to take an ensemble membership which covers the ensemble for a 365 day period. This covers all members of the ensemble for performances with that ensemble only. It does not cover individuals within the ensemble for participation under their own name.
Cost: $22.00 per musician in ensemble – one nominated email address per ensemble.
ADDITIONAL MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES:
1.Visiting Artist:
Applies to artists who do not reside permanently in Perth. A visiting artist may participate in a JAZZWA initiative (eg – Explorations, Jazz Windows, Jazz Now!, Jazzaziz) two times within 365 day period without having to be a JAZZWA premium member. However should the visiting artist participate in a JAZZWA core initiative for a third time within the same 365 day period,they will be required to become a JAZZWA premium member from the date of the third participation (invoices will be issued for membership as of that date).
This must be clearly explained both verbally and in writing to the visiting artist by project managers prior to booking/ contracting.
2. Occasional Artist:
Applicable to musicians or performers from other disciplines who reside in Perth but are not jazz musicians per se.
An occasional artist may participate in a JAZZWA initiative (eg – Explorations, Jazz Windows, Jazz Now!, Jazzaziz) two times within 365 day period without having to be a JAZZWA premium member. However should the occasional artist participate in a JAZZWA core initiative for a third time within the same 365 day period,they will be required to become a JAZZWA premium member from the date of the third participation (invoices will be issued for membership as of that date).
This must be clearly explained both verbally and in writing to the visiting artist by project managers prior to booking/ contracting.
3. Honorary Members (Lifetime Membership)
Honorary members, as the name suggests, are musicians who are recognized as making long term significant contributions to the Perth Jazz Community. These members are selected by a JAZZWA panel. They may perform as part of any JAZZWA initiative , and are not required to pay a membership fee.
