TAL COHEN QUARTET

Monday 22 June @ 8:00pm at The Charles Hotel

TAL Cohen began studying piano at the age of 10 playing Jewish folk songs and classical music at local venues. Leaving Israel at the age of 16 he received a music scholarship to Churchlands senior high school in WA. He then moved on to WAAPA to study the art of jazz and is currently completing his masters degree under the direction of Jamie Oehlers.

His music is influenced by modern classical music, traditional Jewish folk music, and jazz.

Original compositions from an outstanding new CD of big band jazz by Perth’s own Mace Francis Orchestra will be showcased live on stage at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in early June.

51st City of Bunbury Eisteddfod

The 51st City of Bunbury Eisteddfod is about to start with 2200 Music, Dance and Drama performances gracing the stage at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre over three weeks from the 2/6. This year's Eisteddfod will feature new Contemporary Music, Jazz and Blues events that will also feature many professional artists as adjudicators or performers as well as give away thousands of dollars in cash prizes.
